Welcome!

Morro Bay Gardeners' Exchange is a group of San Luis Obispo-area gardeners who produce food of any kind and have surplus! I don't know about you, but I always get more tomatoes than I can possibly eat -- all ripe at the exact same time! If I were more industrious and had more time I know there are things I could do -- like canning. But what would be *really* helpful would be to get some cilantro, onions and peppers, so I could make salsa! Here is where gardeners can get together and share gardening tips, recipes, and their vegetables. At this early point in the game, I'm unsure of *exactly* how this is going to work out, but I have talked with the lovely people who own The Rock coffee shop in Morro Bay. They have a nice garden in back and have kindly offered to let us use that garden as a gathering space for our exchanges on any day that we propose. They've even offered our group drink discounts and their coffee grounds to use as compost. They're really on board with the idea.

I'm hoping to get ideas from everyone who is interested about how to go about making this group and this little web page work best. Because you can't get produce that's any more local than your backyard -- and it just makes sense that we can all be of benefit to each other and become more a part of our great little community.
